Wellness on Wheels
Mobile Primary Care
The Wellness on Wheels (abbreviated as WOW) mobile unit is part of OhioHealth’s community outreach program. It is the result of a collaborative effort among healthcare leaders and care providers to improve access to healthcare in some of the most under-resourced communities of Columbus.
When we describe WOW as a mobile unit, it is exactly that. The clinic resides in a semi-truck where the driver also serves as the registration associate. The three locations for the primary care WOW are Hilltop, Van Buren, and Linden.
Resident Involvement
Second year residents rotate through WOW on their community medicine month.
Residents can apply for a continuity position on WOW after intern year. When they are granted this position, they have WOW clinic built into their schedule throughout the academic year.

Walk-In Primary Care
Doctors Hospital Community Care (DHCC) is a walk-in primary care clinic that provides access to primary care services for patients with or without a medical home. Our aim is to bridge care through addressing low-acuity needs, treating chronic conditions, screening for and intervening on social determinants of health, and linking patients into primary care.
DHCC opened July 2024 as a collaboration between Doctors Hospital Graduate Medical Education (GME) Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Programs to improve Health Equity within our community.
